Cellarium: A Computational Biology Workflowing Environment
نویسنده
چکیده
Cellarium is a Computational Biology Workflowing Environment. It is designed to simplify the creation and refinement of workflows. There are a large variety of bioinformatic disparate components: data sources, algorithms, visualizations, etc.. Cellarium provides a means of leveraging any such component, providing greater interoperability of components than ad-hoc approaches. Cellarium also provides a means of workflow composition. Many scientists are not programmers, yet need to develop complex bioinformatic workflows. Cellarium provides greater ease of use for technical and non-technical users alike. Cellarium takes a programming language approach to workflows, with the guiding goals of interoperability and user-guided program composition. Specifically, Cellarium consists of the following components:

Variability of the Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 2 Flexibility Without Significant Change in the Initial Conformation of the Protein or Its Environment; a Computational Study
Background: Protein flexibility, which has been referred as a dynamic behavior has various roles in proteins’ functions. Furthermore, for some developed tools in bioinformatics, such as protein-protein docking software, considering the protein flexibility, causes a higher degree of accuracy. Through undertaking the present work, we have accomplished the quantification plus analysis of the varia...
متن کاملA Quick Guide to Teaching R Programming to Computational Biology Students
The name ‘‘R’’ refers to the computational environment initially created by Robert Gentleman and Robert Ihaka, similar in nature to the ‘‘S’’ statistical environment developed at Bell Laboratories (http://www.r-project.org/about. html) [1]. It has since been developed and maintained by a strong team of core developers (R-core), who are renowned researchers in computational disciplines. R has ga...

متن کاملBreaking the Ice and Forging Links: The Importance of Socializing in Research
When meeting someone for the first time-whether another PhD student, or the Founding Editor-in-chief of PLOS Computational Biology-nothing breaks the ice like eating pancakes or having drinks together. A social atmosphere provides a relaxed, informal environment where people can connect, share ideas, and form collaborations. Being able to build a network and thrive in a social environment is cr...
متن کاملA New Job Scheduling in Data Grid Environment Based on Data and Computational Resource Availability
Data Grid is an infrastructure that controls huge amount of data files, and provides intensive computational resources across geographically distributed collaboration. The heterogeneity and geographic dispersion of grid resources and applications place some complex problems such as job scheduling. Most existing scheduling algorithms in Grids only focus on one kind of Grid jobs which can be data...
